I'm a certified game master of "12 waves" — assessment business game, and QA Manager with 9 years of experience in IT area. I have spent years looking for interesting tools for self-motivation and development and now I invite you on a journey!

About "12 waves"

This is a board game created by game master and psychologist Lyudmila Malinovskaya. The game takes participants to a ship traveling by sea and overcoming 12 waves — tests that evaluate each of the 12 competencies. Each wave is a set of tasks (a case, a practical task, a tricky question, a provocative situation) and 10 questions for self-analysis. While traveling, each player can choose a role on the ship, from an ordinary passenger to a captain. During the game, participants will solve interesting problems, earn points and give feedback to each other.

How it works

The game works best when played by up to 5 people and takes about 4 hours. We can take a break for lunch or coffee during the game, in order to refresh ourselves and discuss our impressions.

There is an online version of the game for remote teams — up to 7 participants who can spend the training time in their usual comfort.

What you'll learn

You will get a unique experience of communication and collaboration to solve practical cases, see yourself from a different side, understand how the group reacts to your strategies.

You will analyze yourself in terms of 12 key competencies:

the ability to effectively use resources, self-management,

the ability to overcome difficulties, communication skills, the ability to convince and motivate people and much more.

As a result, you will receive a list of your strongest competencies and then analyze whether you use your strongest skills in your work.

You will receive feedback from the group and understand what qualities the people around you value in you.

Perhaps you will want to restructure your work strategies to achieve the result you need.
